Daniëlle Roelofsen

Danielle and me 2011

I have had the great pleasure to have met Daniëlle while traveling in New Zealand South Island in 2009. I had just arrived at the Hostel in Milford sound after 4 days on the Routburn Track and eagerly refreshed myself by playing the piano in the common room. Daniëlle noticed me tinkling away and joined in with her beautiful flutes. We played for an hour almost with much applaud of fellow hikers, before we even knew each others names! . We have met up in Australia, Scotland and Ireland for concerts together a few times since. I am so grateful for her wonderful Flutes including the Irish low whistle on some of my songs. Daniëlle also plays gorgeous Irish Lyre and is a wonderful singer/songwriter in her own right. you can discover more of her sounds http://www.myspace.com/danielleroelofsen

GöG

I have recently enjoyed doing some vocals for a project by GöG, an amazing Didgeridoo player/composer from Germany. GöG developed a new style of playing Didgeridoo, inspired by African drumbeats, Indian sitar, traditional yidaki masters, church organ and stories. He played with Aborigines in Australia, as well as at several European festivals. Good is never good enough for German Didgeridoo artist GöG  - and that's why his reputation seems to be ever-growing.

GöG's music is unique, and it creates a fascinating new musical world: Bush culture meets jazz and funk, archaic rhythms are melting with highly energetic grooves.

I look forward to working on more projects with GöG, our styles are so different, yet we seem to compliment each others creative signatures. I also love that he brings an instrument from my own country of birth into such life in another part of the world.

He is also the inventor of the incredible music machine with Didge and Sitar!!

Checking GöG's videos released on youtube and listening to his online sound snippets you'll be immediately caught by the dense yet delicate soundscapes

Please check out one of their projects below.

Garden2Garden

Garden2Garden sleeveI have been so fortunate to be part of Garden2Garden, which was formed in 2007 between Shetland poet, Nat Hall and her most talented partner, David Hall. Nat's poetry was an inspiration to David and my musical musings, creating a burst of gorgeous ambient songs that grew and grew, blossoming like a wild garden in the height of summer. Pollinating more and more into the following 3 years. You can hear more of their poetry in music at www.myspace.com/garden2garden

Skydiver

This is a wonderful creation by Poet Nat Hall and her partner David Hall. marrying their respective talents to create a most gorgeous song. I was so honored to sing and play some piano on it. Then the clever CREATIVERAIN made this beautiful video
